Happiness

I haven't posted in 6 years and I must say I missed it. It's nice to have a voice. I've been reading a bit about what makes a person happy - and noticing what affects me that way. Supposedly it helps if you give things a bit of time to be noticed and embue you with happiness. My front windows face an empty lot on a lake. Across the lake is treed parkland. It's downhill to the lake and really the view is open and spectacular - but always there, so less noticed. In the fall I have panoramic views of glowing sunsets that are often reflected in the lake for even more beauty. I'm currently just sitting and absorbing the current sunset. Well worth the attention. It brings me joy in it's simplist form. Long ago when I was just starting to crawl out of a bad time I would find my way to my car each morning and just spend a minute there in the driveway before I opened the car door. It was a time to take a minute to let the peace and beauty of the world around me surround me and lift me up. Always made me smile. Best minute of my day.
